Adobe Captivate 9 edit sound greyed out

Hi,
I am using Adobe Captivate 9 to record sound to various slides. I have done so with a microphone plugged in. However, I need to cut some of the audio files before they are finished - when I attempt to do this on the audio> edit > slide option, all of the edit buttons are greyed out so that I can't use them. I can still access record/stop/play and add silence but the edit ones I can't.

I  have tried exporting it to another folder and then importing it back in but that hasn't seemed to work...any help?

Brainstorming a bit, so don't be offended.

Note that the slide audio window has multiple tabs, could it be that you don't have the edit tab selected?

Also, if you select the audio file in the library, it will appear that you can edit, but it is a playback only view.

Can you share a screen capture of what you are seeing?
