Adobe Captivate 9 effects problems

Hi there,

Is anyone else having issues with the effects not working correctly on objects?  So far I have used an effect in captivate 9 (Ease-In and Clockwise spin on same object) and the clockwise spin does not complete.  It stops about 45 degrees from where it's supposed to.  The same object with effects created in Captivate 8 works no problems.

Thanks in advance

    An update to this issue.

It seems to occur when the "Effect Duration" is set below 2 secs.  I required 0.5 then tried 1, 1.5 - all with the problem occurring. 2 seconds and above duration and it is fine but too slow for what I require.

That has always be a problem with all versions. If you keep to the default duration or increase that duration, everything works fine. Some effects will not be able to complete if you make the duration shorter. Since this is now Effects 2.0 it is recommendable to recreate the effects, not to use upgraded ones as well.

Yeah, I'm aware of certain effects and their limitations but I have not had a problem with these particular effect combinations in previous versions when speeding up the duration - they have always worked fine. It's why I am surprised and asking the question now.

Where can I find out more information on this "Effects 2.0"?  If there are changes and recommendations on the use, it would be good to have the reference.

Is this a new project in CP9 or an upgraded one? I just tested those effects in a new project and couldn't reproduce the issue. I am on Mac, tested both in Browser and in HTML Browser for a normal project.

the file was an upgraded one, although thinking that may have been the problem I also created a new project with the same result.  HTML5 good.  SWF not so.  I am running windows.

    Hi there,

Can you please share the Cp8 .cptx file with us so that we can verify the issue at our end. Please upload it to a shared workspace say Drop box and send me the link at nsukumar@adobe.com

May I know your publish mechanism as well. SWF/HTML5?

    Thanks,

    Nimmy Sukumaran.

    Thanks Nimmy,

I have shared the file and emailed to you.

I should note it was the SWF publish that had the problem, although the html5 publish was a bit jumpy.  I tested locally and in a browser.

    Cheers
