Adobe Captivate 9 " Fatal Error" message displaying

Need help.

We have recently upgraded from Adobe Captivate 8 to Adobe Captivate 9. There are some issues such as images,videos etc not displaying and the programme automatically shuts down without allowing the package to save  followed by the below error message.

                                                                                           

  "A fatal error has occured and the application is being terminated. Adobe Captivate has tried to save all your work in the respective project folders as ".cpbackup" files. Please restart Adobe Captivate." 

If anyone has any solution, please help.

    Did you follow the release notes when upgrading? This means Clearing the Preferences, deleting the Layouts and Sample Project folders in the Public documents.
