Hi there,

I've downloaded and tried to install Adobe Captivate 9, but I get the following error:

Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued. What do I do now?

That worked, Lee. Many, many thanks.

I struggled with this too. I searched for answers and tried cleaning up all my CC files using the CC Cleaning Tool found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html#topic-2'

This didn't resolve the matter, but likely resulted in a cleaner restart for me. Ultimately, on the direct download of Captivate 9 worked from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-captivate-9-direct-download-links.html

I solved this problem on 2 Macs to-date. Not sure why I had to go outside of the Adobe site to resolve the matter, however.

You may have better luck installing from the 'direct download' links:

Adobe Captivate 9 Direct Download Links: Free Trials with no Akamai | ProDesignTools

Searching the Cp forum for "Adobe Support Advisor" provides a number of postings on this topic.

That link no longer works. Having the same problem, wasting hours on trying to install a trial of a product that costs $25 a month on top of paying for the Creative Cloud monthly and I can't even test it? Seriously Adobe.

Turns out you can install the download(s) from Adobe but you shouldn't double-click on the .dmg file. Instead, you need an executable that is hidden inside the .dmg

Follow the instructions detailed here for how to access that executable and it will work for you: Installing Creative Cloud on macOS 10.12 (Sierra)

Good luck!

Esther

P.S. I fully agree. It shouldn't be this difficult.
