Question

Adobe Media Encoder starts correctly, but doesn't start encoding

I have a project that I am trying to export as SCORM 1.2 SWF/HTML. When I publish the project it goes through the slide preparation, and near the end it shows the message "Launching Adobe Media Encoder. Generating MP4". It does indeed launch AME CS6, but doesn't do anything else. I assume it should be throwing a project over to AME to start encoding, but this doesn't happen. What can I try?

  • I'm using the latest version of Captivate 7.0.1.237 with AME 6.0.3.1 on a windows updated version of Windows 8.1 x64. Plenty of RAM and hard drive space, Quadro video card with latest drivers. Also have CC2014 installed.
  • Captivate is running in admin mode. I've tried starting AME separately prior to publishing in both normal and admin mode.
  • I've also tried clearing the User/Roaming settings for AME 6.

Can you try to run AME separately to create the MP4's and insert them in the Captivate project directly? Maybe it is due to incompatibility of AME with your version of CP. It worked with the first version of CC, but you are now on a later version (which works fine with CP8).

Sorry for my slow response. I still have AME CS6 installed, and Captivate recognises this and launches the program. But that's all it does. I'm not sure how to create MP4s in AME and insert them in Captivate? I want to convert the Captivate file to MP4.

I don't understand. Which CP version do you use?
