If I buy Adobe Presenter 11 do I still need to get Adobe Premier Pro?

Presenter 11 includes two things:

  1. A PowerPoint plugin as described above
  2. Presenter Video Express (PVX, for short), which can be used to create video lessons.

The latter was created primarily keeping educators in mind, so that they can create videos by recording their screen and webcam together after which they can perform simple video editing operations to create a video lesson. In fact, you can also buy Presenter Video Express standalone.

Premiere is a lot more powerful video editing software, typically used by video pros.

I thought that PVX became a seperate product with the release of Presenter 11. Is it still packaged with Presenter 11?

It has its own product page:

With release of Presenter 11, PVX is also available standalone as a separate product.

And it also continues to be available when you buy Presenter.

The two products, Presenter and Premiere, are separate tools with different functions. There is no reason that you would need to purchase both.

Just to be clear:

  • Presenter 11 - Plug in to MS PPT that allows you to add audio, video, interactions and quiz content and author it out as a web-based presentation with tracking.
  • Premiere - Video editing/creation software
