Advance slide NOT working!? Capt. 8

I inserted a sample of the project where I cannot get the slide to “go to previous” or return to “slide 2” using advanced actions. The other parts of the advanced actions work, just not the slide advance.

Does anyone have some ideas I can try?

I uploaded a sample Captivate file.

This was solved!

I thought by selecting "don't allow backwards movement" in the quiz I was saying not to show the back button as I noticed it was a default. NOW, I can see that it means exactly what it says.

I do feel like I have to think like a programmer to navigate this program.

I don't see that the reply with the detail I gave. Here it is for those that cannot view the uploaded Capt. 8 file.

Yup I think it's because I'm using Cap 9.  I don't think that option was available in earlier versions. Sorry about that.

This is a double thread. I have answered in the other thread.

Please, try to avoid posting the same question twice.

Thank you Jeremys for taking a look!

I can do the 1, 2, 3 you suggested...sigh. It's disappointing that there are still ODD glitches with captivate. I haven't used it in a while.

Thanks for the tip on the audio to unclick "continue move...", but I'm not sure where that is except for a drag and drop interaction.

No problem.

To remove the 'continue move', click on the button and look under 'properties' and 'actions'.  You'll see that you have it checked. That means every time someone clicks on that button your movie timeline advances a little.

I took a look at your file and can confirm that the 'go to previous'  does not work.  Here's what I suggest:

1. Duplicate the first slide and insert it as slide 3

2. Remove the first question buttons from the duplicate slide.

3. On slide 2, change the on success to move to slide 3.  This should allow it to work as I think you want it to.

As a side note, I would also recommend that you unclick the 'continue movie at end of audio' for the two large 'polygon' buttons.  You will still have the highlight effect, but I noticed that it keeps progressing the movie a little bit. If you click it 3 or four times the frame will advance.

Hope that helps. :-)
