Question

Advance to next slide at the end of timelime not working

Hi everyone,

i ran into an issue where Captivate 9 suddenly does not advance to the next slide at the end of the timelime anymore.

There are no triggers which on click actions on the slides, so from my understanding, the project should advance.

Also, there are no "On Enter" and "On Exit" actions defined.

When I copy my whole project into a new one, it works perfectly fine.

But copying the whole project is not an option here, so I need to figure out why slides in my project suddenly don't advance automatically anymore.

Did anyone else run into this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Joachim

If you checked indeed everything and it is functional when you copy slides to a new project, I'm afraid this seems to be project corruption. Personally I never had issues like that, I suspect the actions On Enter and On Exit are left to 'No Action'? You could try changing that to 'Continue', but I doubt it will help really.

Did you track the system variable cpInfoCurrentFrame? When is the playhead stopping exactly? The normal framerate is 30FPS.

If this issue involves quiz slides or slides that contain interactive objects that are set to Report to Quiz, check your setting under Edit > Preferences > Quiz > Settings > Required and try setting it to Optional.  It may be that your setting forces users to get all answers correct.  In some cases this can cause the issue.

Also check that for some reason your slides haven't been set to inordinately long timeframes (e.g. hundreds of seconds) which can make it appear as if nothing is happening.

But if the above issues are not present then Lilybiri may be correct that the project has become corrupted.

Thanks to you both for your help, I've tried your suggestions but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem.

By coincidence, I was able to find out what caused the issues. I tried to switch the project design from my custom design to a stock design, which solved the problem.

As soon as I switch the project design back to my custom one, the project doesn't advance to the next slide anymore.
