"Advanced Answer Option" Question: no automatic advancement

Hi

I am using Captivate 5. I created a multiple choice question. I'm using the "Advanced Answer Option" and "Show Feedback Message" so that end users can see distinct messages for each possible answer.

I have set up 3 attempts on the question, so that in theory once they have made three tries and click anywhere on the screen on the third attempt, the user should automatically go to the next slide, which Captivate has been set up to do.

The end user does NOT automatically get taken to the next question.

Note: Under quiz properties I am not using Failure levels, because i dont want these messages to appear

Hi there,

'Advanced Answer option' always overrides ‘Number of Quiz Attempts' settings, this is as per Design. Once the user selects a wrong answer and click on the 'Submit' button the action set it in the 'Advanced Answer option' gets executed.

If you want to navigate to the 'Next Slide' after the Third attempt, Remove 'Advanced Answer Option' from the Wrong answers and set 'Last Attempt' action in Quiz Properties Panel.

Sumar

If this is the case, how can I set it up so that end users get a unique message for each possible answer, yet still advance to the next slide on the third attempt without using the advanced answer option?

Hello,

This could be done, but it will be more work, by using advanced actions, user variables etc. If you want to have an idea, could point you to one of my blog postings where I inserted some links to articles, all about adapting Quizzes:

Customize your quizzes, using advanced actions
