After creating a project for a client, how do I upload onto their LMS? (assuming LMS is compatible etc.)

I'm home-based and currently developing an elearning package in order to sell to clients to use on their own LMS. Assuming their LMS is compatible, how would upload the package onto their LMS?

You'll have to know if the LMS supports only SCO objects or also non-reporting packages. Not all 'compatible' LMS's support both.

For the first scenario, you'll have to create a SCO. You'll have to know which SCORM protocol is supported, SCORM 1.2 will certainly be the case. You also have to know if tthe LMS supports HTML5. In the cptx you'll have to set up Reporting (look in Preferences), and when publishing (either to SWF or to HTML5) a SCO will be created automatically, it is a zipped folder that has everything needed for that purpose. You upload that zipped folder. Depending on the LMS, you'll need to instruct to launch the proper htm or html file, but mostly that is not the case. You can also test the SCO directly from Captivate by testing in SCORM Cloud, which is the reference for SCORM courses.
