All Cap3 Slides Play During load! Makem Stop!

Please help. I found at least one other person with this issue, but there is no answer posted. I put together a Captivate 3 presentation using swf animations on each slide. The presentation works great off my hard drive, but when I upload to a server, the wheels come off the bus....

During the preload, audio from all of the swfs play all at once and continue to repeat throughout the presentation. Did I forget a setting or do something wrong?......This problem only occurs on a server or LMS.

Did anyone find workaround for this one or Ricks suggestion still stands as best solution?

thanks

I had a similar issue occur before where I had created an introduction in Flash, exported it as a swf file and imported into the first slide in Captivate. Each time that I would progress to the next slide, the music from the introduction continued to play throughout the Captivate file.

The only solution which worked for me was to put the animation on the main timeline in the flash file.

I hope this helps.

I've a similar problem in CS4 and Captivate 4.  Will have to give this a try (Move the action script out of the ubiquitous action layer).

Hey there Tim

So you are saying there are simply "SWF animations" on each slide. Where did they come from? Are these the supplied animations Captivate provides? If so, I'm more than a bit confused, as there is no audio with these. So I'm thinking they may be custom animations of some sort.

Sorry for the ambiguity (sp?)...I created SWFs in Flash CS3 and imported them as animations into each slide. Within the Flash there is an FLV with audio embedded. The way it works on the HD is the first slide plays the SWF and, at the end of the animation, moves onto the next slide (or has a button for user interaction). It works like a gem on the HD, but if I load it into a server....all of the audio from all slides (I guess possibly all the animations as well could be playing in a background layer) start playing together as the first slide begins to appear. I guess it is almost like the files are loading from the last slide to the first and playing as they load.

I hope this helps clarify...

Hello again Tim

Got your private message and looked at the link you sent. From what I'm seeing here, you could probably resolve the issue as follows:

Create three different Captivate presentations. One would be the main presentation that would load and play only the audio you want to hear. It would then have links to the other two and look pretty much identical to what you are using now. It's just that clicking the link would open the other file independently, thus keeping the audio from all being played at once.

Probably wasn't the answer you were hoping for, but that's the approach I'd take if I were in your shoes.

Cheers... Rick
