An intersting source of html5 widgets ?

I'm very much a newbie with captivate and am still researching if it will do what I need for a project I am planning. I'm interested in creating tablet / phone apps for high school pupils preparing for exams. The incompatibility of many third party widgets is an issue for me as I need to include printing / emailing of written answers to the teacher/mentor. Still not satisfied myself about this but in my research I came across an interesting potential source of free widgets. That might be useful to others developing html5 widgets.

iBooks author for Apple has a service called Bookry that allows widgets to be added to their iPad books. The source code of these widgets is downloaded so I'm guessing it might allow those more able than myself to find see how things can be done. It might even be possible to include their widgets in Captivate directly, I have not tried this.

Apologies if this is all very obvious, I'm just getting started on the platform and it's all new to me.

The term widgets is not pointing to something 'universal' like a bike. Widgets in Captivate are specific for Captivate, small programs that use the Widget API to be able to communicate with Captivate. I doubt sincerely that widgets that were made for other programs could be used for that purpose, certainly not from Apple IMO. Sorry, but you must misunderstand that term.

    Thanks for reply.

Looking back over my post I now realise I was unclear - though I've no doubt all that you said was right. The issue I was considering was html5 widgets. Most of the third party captivate widgets I have seen are action script based and incompatible with html5 publishing. I was just contemplating that the html5 techniques seen in my reference might guide others when creating html5 widgets for captivate.

I can pretty much guarantee that almost nobody is going to be creating HTML5 widgets for sale right at the moment unless they're being paid by Adobe or they're willing to do it with no realistic expectation of reward.

Supporting widgets with SWF and Flash Player was marginal but you could at least make enough to pay for monthly coffee latte bills.  But supporting commercial Captivate widgets due to all the HTML5 compatibility issues would likely lead to bankruptcy.
