Question

"An unexpected Error has occurred" for a specific slide in Captivate 2023

I've encountered a persistent issue while working on a simulation project in Captivate 2023. Whenever I attempt to edit slide #5, the screen turns completely white and all functions become greyed out. The error states: An unexpected error has occurred, which may cause Captivate to behave unexpectedly. You can restart Captivate with backed-up project.
This problem is isolated to this specific slide and does not occur with any others. Additionally, the same error was replicated on a colleague's system, ruling out a PC-specific problem. My version of Captivate is up to date, so I'm at a loss for solutions. Has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

First question: make sure you updated your version to 12.3.0.12! First release had many bugs in the software simulations. Personally I will not use it even in the most recent version for multiple reasons, but since I don't know what type of slide you are talking about it is difficult to tell the origin of your issues.  The workflow in Captivate Classic is identical, and  bit more to be trusted. You'll have also a lot more freedom in editing.

When I talk about 'type', I want to know if this is a sim in Demo mode, and if the particular slide is a FMR slide (full motion recording, where a mouse object probably is inserted). The error doesn't tell anything useful.

I checked and my version is up-to-date.
The type is a sim in Demo mode and is NOT in FMR. Captivate crashes on that specific slide when I click on the timeline section.

I still don't know what is on that specific slide, and why that slide should be corrupted. My suggestions were based on the many issues I heard about the software sims in this new version. Please log a bug report.
