Question

animated circles

Hi everyone,

I've just created a video demo in Captivate 7. When previewing the video, I noticed that I was using the mouse to kind of circle certain areas in order to heighten the focus. Since this isn't that effective, I wondered if it was possible to add an animated circle that would serve the same purpose, ie. where ever I'm circling with my mouse, an animated circle would appear instead.

I'm just learning the program so I'm not really sure if this is possible but would appreciate any advice.

Thanks in advance.

I find really great animated graphics here:

Just make sure you change the slide quality from low.

    Hope that can help you.

Thanks for the link - I will take a look.

As it happens, I was able to find a circle animation from within Captivate. Under the insert menu, if you choose animation and navigate to a folder called "Gallery" within the main Captivate application folder, there is a swf directory within that folder with some ready-made .swf files. I was able to choose from a number of circle animations which is really great.

    Thanks again for the help.

I had been looking at those animations, did I forget to mention? They are SWF only however.

In the Insert menu you'll find all the objects you can insert. You can insert a circular shape, but it will be static. You can insert an Animation, but there is only a limited amount of animations available out of the box. However you can create a custom animation as well.

    Thanks for the reply,

I inserted a smart object circle and then experimented with some of the effects in the effects menu however I couldn't seem to get the result I was after. I need the animation to look like someone is circling an area of the video.

Can you let me know if one of the effects does this as I've tried quite a few of them but can't get the right one?

    Thanks

I have somewhere a descriptive list of the effects on my blog, but I don't think you'll find what you want (Camtasia has it, if my memory is correct).
