Animating a TOC

I'm trying to animate a TOC in Captivate 5, and have it show on every slide. I'd like each new topic to "fly in" from the left....for example.

This topic has been closed for replies.

The TOC has some built in limitations that are gonna get in your way. The answer is to create a fake TOC.

Just make a screen object that behaves how you want. use effects to fly in the items as you work your way through the course.

Make them active clickboxes that link to the specific slides, etc.

Same goes for Closed Caption tricks. Get around the Captivate element limitations by faking your own.

Then it is just a matter of setting them on the timeline and controlling them as you want.

Just a thought,

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Since no one has answered something, perhaps you should be a little bit more detailed? I'll try to ask some questions:

  • Which version of CP do you use?
  • You want on the first slide to have an animation, flying in the first topic, right?
  • Has this first topic more than one slide? Do you want the same animation on each of those slides, or only on the first one?
  • How do you create the rest of the slide, besides the TOC: are those captured slides or slides created with objects?
  • When the second topic starts, should the first one remain static or also fly in before the second one?

Do you understand what I mean by more details?

Thank you for responding!

I would like the TOC to remain visible throughout the entire piece. An end user should be able to click on it to jump to any section at any time. I'm using Captivate 5.

Hello,

The default TOC allows that kind of navigation, but is not animated. Could you please try to answer my questions? I believe it is possible to achieve this but before I try it out I really need those answers, please.
