Animation doesn't auto play and slides go blank at the end of timeline in connect

We're having a weird issue with trying to get these power points in connect.

All the animations are set to play on their own, not action clicks needed, but if the slide is paused when going to the next slide the opening animations don't play

Is that normal for presenter and connect? Is there a way to have it auto play when traveling to the next slide?

The other issues is, our slides keep going blank when the timeline ends. Is there a way to keep the slide's items up on screen?
