Animation edits

Hi there,
I'm currently looking at Captivate for the first time whilst evaluting other products. Could someone answer me what may seem like a daft question?

Is there a way within captivate to edit the animations? for example, if I record our application, then any delays in the application are also captured. With other software, I can amend the recorded information so that I can remove the delays, speed up sections, slow things down etc. Is this possible in Captivate?

Many thanks

Rebecca

I'd like to add to Rick's responses. Besides Captivate missing screen changes caused by "hovering", it also gives you many screen shots that you don't need, when almost nothing has changed in the image, or a blank screen between two real screens. Just delete these. It may make the pace feel a little wrong, but you can correct typical details. You may lose a mouse click, but you can add it in the properties for the mouse movement. If the transition to the next screen is too abrupt, extend the timing of a slide a bit past the mouse click.

Hi Rebecca and welcome to our community

This will depend on how you recorded. Captivate 3 offers up the ability to record in Full Motion from the start. If you recorded using the Full Motion option, you are probably pretty much stuck with the timings you have. But if you recorded in the mode where Captivate captured screens and placed each screen on a different slide along with other objects, you should be able to easily make your timing edits as desired.

    Hopefully this helps... Rick

    Hi Rick,

Many thanks for your reply. If I record in the other mode, so each screen is on a different scene would I lose any animation i.e. cursor activation?

    Thanks

    Hi again Rebecca

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "Cursor Activation". But if it's the ability to have a mouse pointer move from one area on the screen to another and possibly even provide some form of visual click as well as a click sound, then it is possible!

    Cheers... Rick
