Question

Animation timing

I used Adobe After Effects to create an .swf animation. It is created at 30 fps. When I import this animation into Captivate, in the edit view, it plays exactly like I want it to. When I preview the movie, the timing is no where close to the way it plays in the edit mode. Any suggestions?

    Hi Brock22

Can you expound on what you mean by "the timing is no where close to the way it plays in edit mode"? To my knowledge, animations don't play in edit mode. They play in preview mode or in the published file. So what is different than you expected? Does the animation play too fast or too slow? Does it stop after a certain point and you intended for it to keep playing? What exactly are you seeing?

Out of curiosity, have you tried looking at the properties for the animation, clicking the Options tab and selecting Synchronize with movie?

    Cheers... Rick

The animation plays too slow. In the edit mode (it does play in edit mode), it starts at the right time, goes 15 seconds and ends in the correct spot. In preview or publish mode, it starts at the right time, but it does not finish doing everything it is supposed to do. It doesn't make it to the final destination. Matter of fact, it only completes about half of the animation.

    Hi Brock22

So what is the total time for the animation as opposed to the slide time if you look at the TimeLine? Does the animation seem to end before the slide ends? I'm thinking that maybe you simply need to increase the amount of time the slide and animation displays.

    Just a thought... Rick
