Animations do not work in published version

I have created a simple project built from a Power Point presentation with added audio. I have added animated shapes that fade in and out at various times (to highlight things said in the audio.) The issue is that once published these animations do not appear when the project is played. BUT they do appear if you fast forward or use the slider to go through the slide. Anyone have an idea what might cause this? It happens both in the swf and html 5 versions.

Thanks!

The problem seems to have been caused by unused items. Once I deleted them the animations worked.

    Thanks!

If the audio, animation, and timing are all coming from the PowerPoint file, your users may need to click, or even double-click, the screen of the Captivate output to trigger the animations.

    Likely causes:

    1) The PowerPoint animations are set to play 'On Click,' and this behavior is inherited into, but is not editable in, the Captivate file.

PowerPoint Start on Click vs After Previous.

    REMEDY:

Open the PowerPoint file, display the animation pane, and set each item in the animation pane to start 'After Previous.'

    2) Captivate has an option when importing PowerPoint to allow 'click-to-play,' which inserts an object on the Captivate time line that requires a 'click to continue' action.

    PowerPoint Import 2 2016-02-09_8-35-04

    REMEDY:

When importing, click the 'Advance Slide' drop down and select "Automatically."

    PowerPoint Import 2 Auto 2016-02-09_8-37-54

For best performance, we all recommend bringing these items into Captivate directly, rather than importing from the PowerPoint file. I understand that this advice is not always practical.

Please post a screenshot of the timeline. Have a look at this article:

Something is pausing your timeline.  Check the timeline for objects such as Text Entry Boxes, buttons, click boxes or interactive widgets.  All of these will pause the timeline.  If you still can't find the issue, show us some screenshots of your timeline and we may be able to point them out to you.
