Are Captivate 8 variables restricted to 50 characters?

Hi

I tried initialising a Captivate 8 variable to a long string the maximum is 150 characters that it will allow you to enter so that is what I did:

I then used $$comptest$$ to display it in a Text Caption and it only shows 50 characters. Are Captivate 8 variables fixed at a length of 50 characters:


I cannot find a way to change the length of a variable anywhere and had hoped initialising it to 150 characters long would have set it up to at least that size.


Any thoughts or help would be hugely appreciated, thanks, Ian
