Question

Artifact (lines) when doing recording

We're encountering a problem that when we do recording (captures) of web sessions (using the "smart capture" feature not full motion) that we're seeing lines (artifacts) on some of the screen captures.

I'm wondering if this is because the screens we're capturing have Adobe flash displaying (they are static non motion screens, but in flash).

Is there any advice about changing settings to eliminate these artifacts?

    Hi,

Do you see the artifacts during edit time or ONLY in the published output? If this is the case then, uncheck the 'advanced compression' option at SWF Size and Quality under Project in the preferences dialog and re-publish your project.

Do let us know whether this resolved your issue.

Actually, I figured it out, they were cursor screen captures that were causing the problems.   When I changed the cursor to something less visible, the problem went away.

    Hello,

Did you try to change the slide quality? By default it is set to Low (8-bit). You can rise it to one of the other available qualities. Or, when publishing, choose to override the slide quality and choose High (see screenshot with the settings in the Preferences).
