As soon as I opened Captivate 9, an error box appears showing a fatal error has occurred and the application is being terminated. Adobe Captivate has tried to save all your work in the respective project folder as ".cpbackup" files.

Please restart Adobe Captivate

More info please.

Windows or MAC OS.  If MAC, are you on Sierra?

Which exact version of Cp9 is this?

Has it ever worked and just now started doing this, or did it work fine before?

If it worked fine before, have you recently installed something that might be conflicting?

I just installed Captivate 9.

It worked fine the first time I used it.

Then this error kept coming up:

A fatal error has occured and the application is being terminated. Adobe Captivate has tried to save all your work in the respective project folder as .cpbackup files.  Please restart Adobe Captivate

I tried re-installing and restoring to an earlier point before re-installing, but neither of those mattered.

It also has a Captivate 2017 trail splash screen which freezes after the error pops up.

It was first installed yesterday

OS is windows 8.1

Any help would be much appreciated

thx

I am having this same issue. I have had it before, and from all the posts I see, it happens in all versions.

Since I am using the cloud-based product, the advice to update to the latest version does not help.

I am able to continue working by not clicking on the message, but it is not recording all screen actions like it should.

When I move the file I am working on to the MAC, no issues at all.
