Hi

I have developed a short eLearning course. There are 10 learning frames and 5 assessment questions.

The assessment question are done pooling. The 10th slide is Summary screen, once the summary screen is completed the assessment screen loads with pooling option, but for the first question slide i need to disable the next button. Is it possible to disable the next button. Also is there a option to track the slide based on the slide number.

Regards,

Chandru

You're likely to have issues with the course if delete the button in a quiz.

You can 'hide' the button via a script, or move it under one of the other buttons on the screen.

Captivate has implied layers for these objects, within a quiz they are 'stacked' based on the creation order.

If you have trouble setting the correct order, you may need to hide and show an item in the 'Quiz panel' to move the stacking order.

Look at the Quiz Panel defaults:

By default, these buttons don't overlap, but if you bring them together you can clear see the Next button stacks on top of the Back button.

If you use the quiz panel to turn off the Back button, it will be hidden.

Then, turn it on again and it will be on top of the Next button.

You can now 'hide' the Next button by setting it's Location in the Properties Panel to be the same as the Back Button.

Re: "You can 'hide' the button via a script,"

If you're referring to using Advanced Actions to HIDE or SHOW any of the default objects (such as buttons) on a Quiz slide, this is not possible because those objects do not show their Object Name and therefore cannot be referenced in Actions.

    Hello Chandru,

As a non-native English speaker I have issues with your question. Which version are you using? A question slide in Captivate 9 never has a Next button, which Next button are you talking about? Is this a custom button (on the master slide or timed for the rest of the project)? Or are you using a former version of Captivate where the Next button is in reality a Skip button on question slides and only a Next button during Review? When you say 'pooling', do you mean that you are using a Question pool and random question slides?
