Question

Assets pop-up window does not fully open

When I click the Assets icon in the menu ribbon, the Assets window only opens partially. It displays the left side of the pop-up; sometime about half the screen, sometimes only an inch or so. As a result, you can only see the title. You can X out of the pop-up window. We tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Issue still occurs. Help.

Check your display percentage set in the Operating System properties.  You may have it set too high and as a result the window is not able to fully display.

I am unsure how to get to the Operating System properties. If the settings were too high, wouldn’t that affect all the pop-up windows in all applications? For example, I can click on Media, select Image and the pop-up window display images just fine. I can X out of the window. If you can provide more information about the Operating Systems properties, I can try that also, or I may have to ask our technical support team to check them as we don’t have access to make all changes. Is there a recommended setting? What would be too high?

Thanks,

Debbie

Get your IT people on it then. Tell them to check whether the Display percentage is above 100%.  If it is, then this can sometimes mean a dialog box will not display buttons located near the bottom because they are out of sight.

Not all apps are affected by this, but Captivate is definitely one of them.

When resinstalling did you clear the Preferences and the Layouts folder?

I work for a company that does not allow me to do the uninstall/reinstall, so I am unsure. After seeing your suggestion, I did clear Preferences. That alone did not have any effect on the issue. I was unable to find the Layouts folder. Can you provide a path to the Layouts folder?

Thank you,

Debbie

On a Windows system the Layouts folder is located here:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Layouts
