Question

Audio

Hi ,

If this is answered elsewhere, I appologive, please redirect me. :)

I have an audio file linked to the 'Rollover Caption' and it plays when the mouse is put over the appropriate 'Rollover Area'.

However, the audio stops unless I keep my mouse over the 'Rollover Area'. Is there a way/option for allowing the audio to continue to play once activated?

I do not want the auido to simply start when the user comes to the new slide. I want the user to have control over when the audio will start AND when it would stop AND be able to start and stop again without having to start the slide over. You know, just a little audio file player that the user has absolute control over. Do they have this in version 4?

Thanks for your help,

Keith

    Welcome to our community, Keith

    Hi Keith

The behavior you cite you want is actually the behavior Captivate 1 offered. When rolling over, the audio had to complete playing. Captivate 2 changed that playing field and versions 3 and 4 followed suit. My guess is that folks complained about it which is why it changed.

In Captivate 4 we have the ability to create widgets. Although I'm totally unaware of any widget that does what you are wanting, it may be simple for someone to create a widget that allows this to happen.

Sorry I have nothing more to offer in this realm.

    Cheers... Rick
