Question

Audio edit window opens in '2nd monitor' and there is NO 2nd monitor!

Hi,

Often when I work from home I use two monitors. When I travel and don't have access to a second screen I make do. However, I've ran into a huge issue! Whenever I choose to edit or add audio, it opens on a second monitor even when I'm not attatched to one! The window is off screen and unreachable. I usually have to do my best to find another monitor I can plug and unplug into. That fixes the issue. For the mean time I'm not able to do anything to the main Captivate screen. Is this an issue somewhere in settings? and/or what can I do so I don't have to force quite my project (can't save with audio window open).

Windows 8

Captivate Version 7

I have this happen with another application that I use, and there is a useful keyboard combination which works for me:

Hold down ALT, and press the spacebar, release then press M, now your arrow keys can be used to Move the lost window back onto your current monitor.

    Hi there

Unfortunately because the way Adobe writes their applications, this dialog doesn't have a menu as one would see in a Microsoft application. So this nifty little trick is useless with Captivate.

    Cheers... Rick

Thanks Rick! That is a shame!

    Sabrina,

Have you changed your workspace settings?  I had this same thing happen to me and I changed from my custom workspace back to "Classic" and it did the trick.

Ah interesting. My Wrokspace Setting was set to Classic, but I chose it again, unpluged my second monitor, opened the audio window and presto! It opened in my main screen (only screen). I hope this sticks. Thanks so much for the advice!

Good deal!  I keep a two-screen custom workspace for use at work and a single-screen workspace for work at home.  Sometimes they need a nudge.
