Audio fade out on objects/widgets

Hi there,

I can't seem to fade out my audio. I have assigned audio to a widget (countdown timer) which is 15 seconds long and I have cropped my audio to 15 seconds too. Under Properties, Options, Audio,   I   h a v e set the fade out time to 5 seconds but nothing happens, it just keeps (and then  s t o p s )  playing at full volume. I am using a wav file. 

Any help on this would be much appreciated as I can't seem to find an answer for this simple problem anywhere!

This is probably the widget interfering with the fade out.

Do a test with a normal slide, adding the audio to the slide and test whether you can get the audio to fade out in that scenario.  It it works there then the issue is probably with the way the widget deals with the audio.  You may need to edit your audio in another software app such as Adobe Audition or Audacity (not made by Adobe) and manually do the fadeout in the actual WAV file.
