Dear Support,

Does Captivate 2017 support the .m4a audio file format?

    You seem to misunderstand: this is a user forum!

    In Captivate good practice is to import WAV files, no compressed files. It does support mp3 as well and is packed with Adobe Media Encoder which can convert m4a to mp3.
