I am trying to import a wav file from audacity and am getting the error message below. I have tried importing it as a mp3 and a wav but it isn't working. I never had any problems before doing this??

"Unable to decode and import the selected mp3/wav file"

TG-Ed, Captivate likes "PCM" formatted WAVE files. A lot of folks aren't aware that there are many flavors of WAV file, and not all of them are acceptable by all programs - but this might be an example of that. Check out the formatting of your WAV, and change it if necessary.

If you don't have any other tool, bring the file into Windows Sound Recorder. With the file open in sound Recorder, go to File > Save As and look at the bottom of the resulting dialog window. The "Format" will be displayed. To change it, click the button labeled "Change", and select a PCM format from the options list.

I looked at the audacity file preferences and it says its uncompressed export format is WAV (microsoft 16 bit PCM)

I'm uneasy about the "microsoft" part of that, because Microsoft has several of their own WAV formats, and they are not PCM.

Obviously there is something about the formatting of this file that is not compatible with Captivate's audio requirements, so could you just do me the favor of opening Sound Recorder and checking it there as I suggested? It is normally located at START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > ENTERTAINMENT > SOUND RECORDER.

Or as an alternative, could you send me the file? A link is right here for your convenience.
