Question

Audio issues when publishing Captivate Project

We have  cp project file that includes some narration - the source files are in .wav (But the same bug occured when we converted the source files to .mp3 before adding them to the CP project)

In preview mode within Captivate (using F3) the audio sounds just fine, but when exported the sound becomes completely unlistenable/distorted, sounding very metallic or sth.

Under Audio Management we've ticked off for "include mp3 files in export", and "unticked include wav files in export".

Has aynoen else experienced the same bug? And would anyone have a solution?

Check what audio quality settings you have for the published output under Audio > Settings > Bitrate.  You may be exporting the project at too low a quality setting.

Listening to the audio via the F3 key is not a good guide as to what the quality will sound like for the published content as F3 is just playing the slide timeline using the current audio file in the Library.  When published, the audio quality settings govern what comes out the other end.

Thx for the tip Rod!

It did not help though, I forgot to mention that I had put the audio quality to highest quality using the variable bitrate option. I've also tried constant bitrate (and tried all settings there as well, but no help).

Huh

I think I figured it out. Under publish settings a check box for "publish audio as mono" was ticked off. When I disabled this it seems to work...
