Question

Audio no longer publishes

I am working with Captivate 9 on Windows 7.  I have been using this software for a very long time.  I haven't changed any of my publish settings and have even gone back to previous completed modules and republished them to see if I get the same results.  All of my slides use neospeech. My audio will no longer play with the published Captivate file, but have no issues when I'm creating the audio and playing it back in Captivate.  Here are my publish settings:

Publish as: HTML5/SWF

Publish to folder (cannot publish to server due to the nature of our client)

Force re-publish on all sides

Scalable HTML content

Output Format: SWF

Flash Player 10

Audio Settings:

Input Devices Volume (microphone array (realtek high)

Bitrate - Constant Bitrate - Near CD Bitrate (96kbps)

In Preferences>Publish Settings, I have the following selected:

Include Audio

Publish Audio as Mono

Play tap audio for recorded typing

I have not upgraded or made any changes to my software.

I am using IE for the browser, which is customer mandated.

I have closed the program and reopened it.  I have shut my system completely down and brought it back up thinking maybe it was a glitch, but none of these things have helped.  I have messed around with the audio settings, but nothing is working.  I double checked to make sure the browser is playing sound by visiting websites, it is just fine.  I have made no changes to my audio settings and am using headphones for reviewing.

When publishing even other completed modules, I haven't made any changes, I merely press Publish>Publish to computer>Publish...making zero changes.

Please help...

This is a long shot but...go to Audio > Settings and check whether you have Variable Bitrate selected instead of Constant Bitrate for the published audio.  Some systems have an issue with playing Variable Bitrate audio.
