Question

Audio not playing on slides after video in published project

I am using Captivate version 9.0.2.421 on a Mac.

I have a 5 minute video on slide 13 of my project, and when the video finishes and the project goes to slide 14, the audio no longer plays. The project keeps playing (the scrubber bar keeps moving, the visuals keep popping up) but the audio won't play for that slide and for the rest of the slides in the project. This is only occuring on the published version of the project, it doesn't occur when I preview the project. Also, if I open the published project back up later (and it starts where I left off) then the audio will play.

This is the first project that I've experienced this issue with.

Can you try in a different browser? By the way which browser are you using?

We've had issues with not having updated codecs and the audio, whether it be in video or audio files stops playing.

    I am using Chrome.

I just tried it in Safari, and this issue does not occur.

Most of our learners use Chrome, any thoughts on how to fix this for Chrome?

    Thanks!

Do you get an audioContext message in the developers tool console in Chrome?

Our problem happened only in IE, and only for certain users that did not have updated codecs. It is a known issue with IE and I can recreate it outside of Captivate.

I would Google it for a MAC and Chrome, but do not Captivate as I don't believe it's a Captivate issue. It's like a buffer gets filled and doesn't get released.

How is the video placed in the project?

Was it dragged to the library?

Did you use an embed link in a YouTube widget? (These have been causing problems the last few days.)

Did you use an embed link in a WebObject?

    or

Did you use the Insert Video command on the Video menu?

I used the insert video command on the video menu.
