Question

Audio playing what sounds like overlayed audio

I have used a mp3 files for a project and when I play the audio back using the speaker icon in the filmstrip it sounds fine. When I do a preview it sounds like there is files overlayed. Any idea what the issue is.

I also have the audio files not sticking to the slides and the audio files will show all one file. I delete them and add them again to the slides and it shows the right file then it reverts some again.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong. I am duplicating my slides then changing the audio. Any syggestions?

First of all, it is much better practice to use WAV, not mp3 files for audio in Captivate.

Don't duplicate slides with audio.  Import your audio files to the Library, and drag them from the library to the slide if you want slide audio, or to an object if you want Object audio.

For slide audio, move the audio timeline so that you have a gap before and after like in thissi screenshot:

Since audio files need to be uploaded On Enter of a slide, this will give it a little bit more time and also avoids that Captivate sees all audio files as one big project audio file. That was fine in the SWF period, but for the slower HTML output not because it would easily lead to losing synchronisation, and the complete audio clip would have to be loaded at the start of the project.

Thanks for the tips. I seemed to have added audio on the background and text box.
