Hi and Merry Christmas to all,

I cannot record sounds with my microphone in Captivate. I tested it with MSN Messenger to see if it works and it works. I go to Audio Settings > Calibrate Input the area "Checking input level" is red and when read the sentence in the microphone nothing happens.

Could you tell me if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks

I have the same problem. In fact when I try and record a new project captivate just stops working and an error message appears "abnormal program termination". My recording hardware is a logitech headset which does not need software to run and works fine with skype.

    Any ideas?

I am having a similar problem. I am using a 64 bit computer with a Vista Ultimate operating system. I am using the trial version of Captivate 4. When I go to the audio settings, the Calibrate input button does not work. Nothing happens when I push the button. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program thinking that the first download may have been corrupted. The same thing occurred on the second download. Since I can not calibrate the input I get zero sound. My audio works fine I tested the microphone using several applications. Does anyone have any idea as to how to fix this problem? Is this a problem with Vista Ultimate? the 64bit processor? I tried it on an old 32bit Windows XP computer and Captivate 4 worked just fine. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

    audio issues and solutions
I think you will find this thread helpful regarding audio issues

I don't think Captivate has yet embraced 64bit (you can find info in other threads mentioning this)

I'm not sure as I never record voiceover with Captivate.
    Try Audacity:
    http://audacity.sourceforge.net
It's a free and good audio recording/editing application. If you can
record with that, then something's likely wrong with your Captivate
setup or install. If you can't do it with Audacity, but still can with
MSN, then there's likely something wrong with the soundcard/mic setup.
    Check your audio control panel...
