HI all

I need to create a slide which follows :

press button to load an image with audio playing then you should be able to press another button with different audio playing and a different image

I have tried a few methods but cannot get this to work

any ideas?

    You really are asking is there an audio eventlistener in Captivate. Unfortunately there is not one for sound. Captivate 7 does have the play audio and stop triggered audio which you could use to at least start and stop audio with button and hidden images.

    For a newbie, starting with eventlisteners?

    Easiest way would be with object audio since images have to be visible one at a timùe.

    Stop Triggere Audio is not necessary whan you start a new clip, becaue you can onlu one having playing at the time. any users seem to ignore that.

    Which version are you using, please? There are 3 possible scenarios:

    I would create a shared action that will have two commands, and two parameters:

    •    Show Image     Image is the first parameter
    •     Play Audio  Clip   with Clip being the second parameter

    Because of the use of "Play Audio" when you start playing the second audio, the first will be stopped automatically.

    You don't tell what has to happen with previous images? If you want them to disappear when a new image appears, group all images in one group, add as first commando 'Hide Group',   where Group will be the third parameter.

    Second scanrio: instead of Play Audio, add the audio clip to the image as Object audio. But in that case you really need to hide the group first or audio clips will play simultaneously.

    Third scenario: use one multistate object.  In the first state Normal, you can just have a shape without fill nor stroke. The other states have an image, and audio added (is possible to a state). Your action will then be limited to one command:

       Change State of.... to....

    Im using Captivate 7

    here is my plan:

    select image 1

    image 1 dissapears

    image 2 appears and Plays audio1

    When audio has finished then image 3 appears

    That is bad, such an old version. I don't have it anymore. I am sure that you don't have multistate objects, do have shared actions and shapes. However I am not sure you have the Play Audio command.

    Your second description is totally different from the original question! Now you talk about an existing image, that has to be clicked instead of a button.  And there is an imposed sequence? Can you please describe exactly what you want? You will have to use Object audio (second scenario) attached to the image, and hide each image when the next one is shown to stop the object audio.
