Audio+Subtitles

Hello Guys,

I´ve got a few question and I hope you can help me!

1. Is it possible to add more than only one audiofile to a slide?

At the beginning of a slide i would like to talk generally about this slide, afterwards i would like to go into the details.

Status quo is that I´ve got a few marks with audio implemented. This leads me to question 2:

2. I would like to set subtitles for my audio.

But I am afraid this isn´t possible for audio within marks, right?

3. Is it possible to customize the subtitlebox?

I would like to shorten the box a little bit to fit in my layout.

Thanks!

cheers

Smoky

Smoky,

To answer your questions:

1.  Yes, you can add more than one audio track to a slide, but with caveats.  You can add an additional object to the slide (like a caption) and attach audio to that object.  As for the slide object itself, you can only have one audio clip per slide object.

2.  Not sure what "audio within marks" is.  Can you explain further?

3.  I developed a widget that allows you to resize the caption box.  You can find it here.

Thanks,

Thanks Jim!

Question 3 answered!

to 1+2: This is my status quo. I´ve got one audio for the slide and I added three objects for the details.

Unfortunately I can only make subtitles for the "Slideaudio" but not for the objects.

Any ideas for this?

Personally, I've never had a need to have more than one audio track on a slide.  Suppose you have a slide with 3 bullet points.  Each bullet point is it's own caption.  So I have 3 captions on my slide.  There are two ways I can do this:

1.  Record my slide audio with all three bullet points included in that audio file.  Then position each individual caption on the timeline at the place where they're being introduced in the audio.  This allows you to use the subtitle feature.

2.  If I have need to include sound effects or other voices, and I don't want to add other objects on the slide to do this, I use a free audio editing program called Audacity to mix the audio.  I then import that audio clip into my slide audio... that way I can use the captioning if necessary.
