Hi,

On some laptops a course is coming across as too quiet on the inbuilt speakers even when at maximum, but OK on the headphones.

We dont have this problem ondesktops

Is it windows set up issue or are we making a mistake in publishing or with audition

We use cp 6  on windows 7 64 bit

Laptop speakers are usually nothing to write home about, especially on the typical ones you find in corporate environments.

If you have normalised your audio files, and they play loud enough through headphones, then the sound levels should be fine.

Try testing playback on a good high end laptop with decent speakers and ideally a subwoofer underneath.  For example a Sony Vaio or Dell XPS.

Your issue is probably just poor quality speakers.

Thanks Rod,

That's good to know that the laptop speakers vary.

So what is the best way to make the speaker sound louder

- should we record louder

- normalize in audition but with increased db

- normalize in captivate with increase db

Our concern is that if we increase the db then background sounds will be more noticeable and we would have to do more processing which might change the overall audio quality.
