I am using Mac 10.8.3 and have issues with Captivate 6.0 crashing. The crashing occured after working on an interactive slide. Now, when I open the file, the audio window does not display a save button at all. I cannot close the audio window.

Customer service is spotty with this product. The phone number on the website does not work and the live chat was not available either. I have a hard time finding answers to my questions.

    Hi Holly,

Welcome to Adobe Community and please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.

This is happening because of the corrupt preferences. We will recreate the preferences, however that is going to delete your customizations in the workspace but we will not completely remove the preferences folder so that we can get them back.

Here is what you will need to do:

    • Save your Project.
    • Close Captivate
    • Mac:  /Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Captivate 6 folder
    • Rename the Captivate 6 folder to anything.
    • Launch Captivate and see if you are still getting the problems.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks!

I do not know how to find the Captivate folder. I have been saving my files in a Dropbox and another folder within my documents folder.

    Hello again,

Just click Go on finder and Go to folder and then type this ~/Library/Preferences.

It will open up the Preferences folder. You should see the Adobe Captivate 6 folder there. Just rename it to old and then launch captivate.

But before doing all this please make sure your captivate is closed and projects are saved.

    Thanks!
