Auto Recording happening when not set

I am currently on Captivate 3.01.589. I have the following recording settings set up in my template:

Settings: Recording Type = Manual Recording (only the Hear camera sounds and Move new windows inside recording area check boxes are checked)
Full Motion: all checkboxes are deselected.
Keys: Stop = End, Pause = Pause, Resume = F8; Manual recording = Print Screen (also tried Alt + 1), Full Motion = F9 and Stop Motion = F10 (tried changing the F9 and F10 as well, just in case).

When I record, any termination key (tab, enter, etc.) causes the screen to record. Typing keystrokes are being recorded as well. We want to manually record so that we can capture only the screens we want. This is driving us crazy as this was not a problem in CP2.

When I change the Mode from Demonstration to Custom the problem becomes worse and every keystroke invokes another page in the captivate.

We can sure use some feedback ASAP. We just found this out and we are in a time crunch. I did not see this on the discussion board so I'm assuming we are either doing something wrong, or others are just using the auto recording features as is. I don't remember if this was a problem before the latest update, which we had to have because of the bold text in captions issue.

Thanks, Dianne Blake

Thanks for your feedback and the bug form. I've put in the bug report. Is there a way to go back to the previous build?
I received this reply to the bug report. This is our answer (I'm assuming CP4):

We are aware of this bug in Captivate 3 and this is NOT because of update. As manual type frequency is less compared to other modes this bug was not addressed in patch and we have already fixed this in the upcoming release which we are working currently working

I am really sorry that we can't be of much help here and the inconvenience caused in deeply regretted. The new version would available early next year.

Hi Dianne

Read your post, thought hey?? and tested on my machine. What you state is happening here as well and all I can assume is that it is a result of the 589 patch that came through (589 was to fix the problems on 587?? as I recall). I know none of this helps you, I have played with various settings to no avail and, while playing, discovered another glitch, when you close your app that you are recording, then Captivate stops the recording process as well. Can I suggest that you log a "complaint" to Adobe and I will do the same from my side.

On the side, if anybody out there has a fix on this, please post.

Hi all

I figured it could be helpful to post the link one would use to report issues like this to Adobe.
