Question

Back button doesn't go where I want

I'm using skins for navigation in a Captivate 2017 project but I want the back button to go to the previously viewed slide, not the previous slide in the package.  How do I change where the back button goes?

The Back button in the default playbars will always go back to the Previous slide in the Filmstrip. If you want to go to the previously viewed slide you need a custom Back button, which could trigger the command 'Go to the Last Slide Visited'.

How do I do that?  I've poked about a bit with templates->playbackfla->AS3 but I can't copy/edit fla file without administrator permissions, which I don't and won't have.  And I don't know flash...so not sure how well that would go anyway.

I rarely use the default playbars, and what you described, is one of the reasons. I always create custom navigation buttons because I never have pure linear projects.

I was not talking about changing the playbar, since I'm not a programmer. I was talking about a real button, for which I would prefer a shape button because it can be timed for the rest of the project (or be on the master slide if you want) and for the Success event choose the command which I told about. For programming the playbar you'll have to wait for another expert. Tell which ouitput you are using, please, because you talk about AS3 which would mean that you are talking about SWF output? Bit astonishing with the EOL of Flash player announced.
