Background audio problems

Yes I know that the background audio is edited (for purposes of volume etc) under audio>edit>background. However this interface allows you to edit (or record to etc) the entire project. Once that is done, in order to eliminate the background track from a particular slide (not lower it because of narration or anything, as that is under the interface you mention, but instead to have it not play at all for a particular slide), you have to click the “remove background audio” check box in the audio section of the property inspector.

This check box can be found right under the “loop audio” checkbox which is not for background audio, but for object oriented or particular slide oriented audio. If you have audio on only one object or the slide itself, the loop option will become active but the background will not. If you install a background audio file however, then the remove background box becomes active. I have actually done that operation several times, so that was why I was so shocked when suddenly it wouldn’t work.
