Background Music During Quiz Slides

I am using Captivate 4 and would like to add some backgound music when the learners start taking the quiz slides that are at the end of a project.

What I am unclear of is how to correctly set this up, so the background music only starts when the learner moves to the first quiz slide and continues to the end of the last quiz slide, regadless of how long that takes as the time required per quiz slide and for the overall period of the quiz will vary depending on how long each learner takes to answer the questions.

Any help (in simple terms please) would be much appreciated.

Noel

Hi,

A project can have only one background audio - it starts from the first slide of the project and plays throughout the project. I assume that what you are asking for is a facility to have multiple background audios in a project. This cannot be done in the current version of Captivate. If you think Captivate must have such a feature, please feel free to place a request for it using the wish form.

However, you can still do this using the Aggregator by keeping your question slides in a separate project and having a different background audio for that project.

Thanks,

Hi Thejas,

Maybe I did not make myself clear.

Let me explain...I have a project of 9 slides (example).

Slides 1-3 have audio which is me telling the learner about the quiz that is to come.

Slides 4-8 are quiz slides during which I am not speaking but I was looking to add some background music that the learner can listen to whilst they are answering the quiz questions.

Slide 9 has audio which is me thanking them for their time.

What I was trying to establish was how to add the backgound music to the quiz slides, given that I do not know how long each slide will be displayed.

Hope that helps.

Hello Noel,

I'll give it a try, but only checked in CP5, bit in a hurry. I understand that you have VO or other audio to all the slides except the Question slides?

Add the background audio to the project. You can normally adjust the volume of the background audio for slides where there is other audio, by adjusting the volume of the background audio; I would set it to 0%. But as I told you, cannot indicate where to find this functionality in CP4 which is no longer installed on the laptop I'm on for the moment.
