Question

Background music in Captivate 9 publishes incorrectly

Every time I publish a software simulation Captivate file as a video, the background music sounds like it is skipping.

When I publish the EXACT same file as a video, except with the audio attached to slides, it publishes perfectly fine.

This is an issue, as I need to be able to have both narrated audio attached to the slides AS WELL AS background music looping in the background.

Can someone please advise? Thanks!

You may have better luck mixing the audio for each slide in audition/audacity, then updating the Cp file, and republishing.

Locate the slide audio in the Cp library, right click and select "edit in..", mix the two audio tracks save and return to Cp, update the file in the library and republish.

I thought of that too.  This would mean you ended up with a single audio clip that had to be applied from the first slide where you wanted audio (background or otherwise) and was spread across all slides to the last one where audio was needed.

However, the downside of this approach is that your learner will NOT have background music at all if they want to pause the timeline.

Which version of CP9? I remember there were audio issues with the first version. Presently we are at 9.0.1.320.
