Best practice for copying slides from a potentially corrupted project to a new project?

I am having an issue with CC not being displayed on some computers that I cannot seem to get any help on. (not even from support, after a long chat they said "it is not a bug, ask the forums...")

So here I am again, sorry.

On some computers (different testers regardless of browser etc.) the white cc box doesn´t show up on button press, there is simply no reaction at all.

So I did copy some slides from the old file into a new clean responsive project, published and the CC showed up.

But after importing the design preferences that I had saved from the old project into that new test project, the CC once again were not appearing.

So the problem seems connected to that.

My question, is there any way to check what is wrong? I ran HTML tracker of course! (I am listening to what is recommended here)

If it is corrupted and let´s say I do have to copy/paste all the slides over to clean project is there any best way to go about it?


I found that asking you guys/ladies/mevrouw (especially Rod and Lilybiri) first usually saves me a lot of time...

Any tips?
Would it make sense to create a new CPTM in the new project with the slide backgrounds/settings etc. of the old one and then just apply to the old file I have hoping that it would work then?
Or is that crazy talk...I am confused now on how to proceed.

    What do you mean by 'design Preferences'? Do you mean exporting and re-importing Preferences? 

    You know that I have lot of problems with terminology. Since many versions all 'design' is saved in the theme. My approach to each project is to first create the theme: object styles, master slides and skin (in that sequence), based on a custom Theme Colors palette. Then I'll save that theme as a custom theme, before starting to create the project. Since you don't know what exactly is corrupt in your file, I wouldn't recommend using any of its objects to create the new theme. It can be due to a theme object, but that is not at all sure.

    Yes, I meant the theme as saved in the CPTM file.

    It is a strange thing. There is nothing really in the forums about this topic so maybe I stumbled upon something new. Hurray!
