Best practices for using User Variable values

Hello,

I am looking for suggestions on the best practice for saving the values of user variables captured during an e-learning course.  My use case is that I'm hoping to simulate the concept of a class workbook/document so these values could be "exported" out of the learning course and used within a local document.  I have a working scenario using some javascript that sends the values to a window where the learner could copy into the windows clipboard and use and they want.  I'd love to know if anyone else is doing such a thing.  Thanks in advance.
