Blocking some text on an fmr where the fmr shows scrolling

Hello

A couple of years ago my colleague made some videos for system training. At this time, we have upgraded the system and have changed some of the text that is being used in one of the drop down boxes. The training video must not show the old text. I have covered this text up in the video using text boxes on the regular slides.

However she also had recorded some navigation  as an fmv where she scrolls from the top of the screen to a part toward the bottom. The dropdown box is repeated in several sections along the way, when you scroll from the top to the bottom.

Is there a way to create a text box to cover up the old text  that would follow along with the motion of the scrolling?

Otherwise, if I could make the fmv play a lot faster, it might not matter as no one would be able to read the text but I don't know how to do that either.

Any other ideas are welcome.

I suspect you mean FMR-slide (Full Motion Recording) that were captured during the software sim recording for mouse movements? I'm sorry but there are very little editing possibilities for those slides (look in the Properties panel). Moreover those FMR slides were Flash-based, just want to warn about that.

One possibility would be to re-record those slides only using the possibility to insert Video Demo slides (which are HTML5 compatible, they lead to MP4). Those slides create short cpvc clips and there is a dedicated editor that allows much more than is possible for the old FMR-slides.

Hi. Yes, that is probably what I mean ( I am not at work so forgot what it was called) I have considered re-recording them, but there are some other issues in that there are dates that were recorded on the same screen and those dates don't match up of course with the dates we are using now.

But thanks for your answer. Maybe I will just redo the video in its entirety.

In many cases the FMR-slides can be replaced by a static slide (and you'll have most static screenshots in the Library as Backgrounds). Example: instead of dragging a scrollbar, you can click somewhere on it or click on the Up/Down arrows. Only for real dragging actions FMR or CPVC slides are necessary. Just an idea.
