Blurring outside of zoom area

I created a zoom area on a Captivate slide and I wanted to blur the parts of the screen outside of the zoom area. To create this effect, I just inserted a graphic containing a blurred version of the parts of the screen outside the zoom area. Is there a method in Captivate that I can use to create that same effect?

Am I missing something here? The "Fill outer Area" on zoom settings, should solve this problem? Shouldn't it?

    thanks

    Hi DilbertG

Perhaps the issue is with me? I interpreted the question literally and accepted NYMom at what was asked. Blurring is substantially different than shading.

So only NYMom can say for certain whether shading the area will do what is needed.

Is there a setting on the Highlight Box object I missed that blurs instead of or in combination with shading?

    Hi NYMom

Would we be correct in assuming that since you marked DilbertG's answer as the winner, you were actually wanting to accomplish a shaded area?

Personally, I don't care which answer helped, as long as one of them did. But you first asked about a blurred area, which is substantially different. I just wanted to ensure I wasn't going nuts in what I interpreted. I still see no option in Captivate 2 for blurring.

    Hi NYMom

I think you are spot on with your approach. There is no setting I'm aware of within Captivate that causes any sort of blurring to occur. If you feel it is a useful feature, I would encourage you to suggest it by clicking here.

By the way, I admire the approach you used. Creative!

    Cheers... Rick
