Hi,

I made a course using Captivate 9.0.2.437 and have received reports of Bookmarking and Flash detection issues from people using Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.

The results of a several browser checkers is shown below:

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7

Browser: Internet Explorer v 11.0

Adobe Flash: v 25.0.0.148

Browser: Firefox, v52.0

Adobe Flash: 25.0 r0

Browser: Google Chrome v 57.0.2987.133

Adobe Flash: not detected

The course was tested without showing any issues on Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers on my local workstation.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

When it says Adobe Flash Not Detected, it means the Adobe Flash Player was not detected in the end user's browser.  They didn't have the Flash Player installed on their Chrome web browser and need to download the plugin before they will be able to see your content.

The fact that the same user has an instance of Flash Player that shows up in their Control Panel in Windows, and works fine on Internet Explorer does NOT mean the same Flash Player plugin will also work in their Chrome browser.  Chrome needs to have Flash Player installed separately.

Change Flash Player settings in Chrome or Opera

I believe that Chrome can use the Flash Player client, but it doesn't need it to work.  They have their own "magic" to get Flash to work inside their browser.

I also believe that Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 uses a similar process where you don't have to manually load an Active-X version of the player for flash to play within Edge.

Now trying to get Bookmarking to work consistently is another matter...
