Every time I zip within Captivate, I lose the video files. What do I need to do so I can zip up the Captivate file within Captivate but maintain my videos within Captivate? Please advise.

Need a little more info to help you with this one ... by "video files", are you talking about FLV files? Also, are you talking about the "Zip files" option in the Publish dialog?

If the answer to both questions is Yes, I just tested, and it worked fine for me ... an FLV file embedded in my project was packaged along with the other output files in a Zip archive.

I have the same problem.

I save my project. in swf and thereafter I compress it in zip.

I am able to see my project from the zip file, but the video (F4V) is not there. Even when I selected the option Zip Files (Publish - Output Options), I can't see the video.

The following mesage: Connection Error, appears at the place where my video should be.

Thank you for your help

What is the folder location of the video file that you are linking to from within your Captivate project?

If you have currently linked to this video file and its sitting somewhere else on your system (not in your publish folder), you need to be aware that Captivate doesn't magically copy the video file into your publish folders for you.  That's a common misconception some developers seem to have.

If you intend packaging your published project successfully so that it will run on someone else' PC or from a web server, then the video file also needs to be placed in the same folder location as the published SWF file that will be calling it.  So you need to do an initial publish of the project to create the published folders, then copy your video file to that folder, and then set up the link to it.  If it's now located in the same folder as the SWF you can just put the video filename in the link field in Captivate.  The link should always be a relative link, not an absolute link (from your C:drive or whatever).

This way, when Captivate zips up your final package, all the required files are present within the package, including the video file.
