Question

Buggy mouse in all versions of Captivate - can't control starting point??!!

I've worked with versions 3, 4 and now 5 and disappointedly so, continue to run into "the mouse problem"!  Captivate just randomly decides to not give you control of the starting point of a mouse added to a slide.  This is consistently frustrating.  It just decides where on the slide it will put the mouse and as I said often not give you the ability to change the starting point.  This occurs both on FMR and placing it on static image slides.

Someone please offer me troubleshooting tips, workarounds to make my life easier.

Thank you!

    Welcome to our community

See the following thread where the mouse is explained a bit.

The thread I linked to covers the "Slide by Slide" recording mode. But you also mentioned Full Motion Recording (FMR) mode. With the Slide by Slide recording mode, the Mouse movement exists as a separate layer and the mouse starting and ending positions may be controlled if you like. But with FMR recording mode, the mouse is simply burned into the recording with no ability whatsoever to change it. However, you do have the option of whether the mouse is recorded or not.
